This past May we went to Webb’s Holiday Acres in Aldergrove for GEMS camp. Once again, the girls from Fleetwood CRC joined us for the weekend. After setting up on the first night, we had snack and campfire and played some games that helped us get to know the girls from Fleetwood. We were so excited for the weekend to begin!
Saturday being activity day we went horseback riding, made a craft, played games and swam in the pool. It was a busy day, but oh so much fun! After dinner, we gathered around the a campfire for a sing-along and performed our cabin cheers. The day ended with devotions before falling asleep.
After breakfast and packing up, we played more games and participated in worship service. Jessica from Fleetwood Church spoke to us about our theme "Bring the Message". She talked about what Isaiah meant when he wrote “Here am I. Send me.” in chapter 6:8. She told some stories and made it really clear to us that he meant for us to bring God’s word to others and be willing to go for Him wherever He sends us. That’s what I learned through the year at GEMS and hearing it one more time at camp was a great way to end the year.
This was our verse: “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me.”
