Today was an amazing day far so many reasons. My day started out with doing morning devotions with my small group. We talked about community and discipleship and within that we talked about relationships being a two way road in which effort is needed from both sides of the relationship.
After devotions we rushed off to our worksites. My worksite was helping out with the Say Yes kids camp for indigenous kids. We started off our day with some rotation games with the kids. One of the parts that made me joyful was when we had 10 seconds left in the game and one little girl was trying so hard to win the game by knocking over the ball which Hamish and I were guarding. Hamish let the ball go through his legs and knock his ball off. The little girl was filled with joy the rest of the day, telling everyone how she won the whole game with a huge smile on her face.

Later in the day we went and did some skits that taught the kids about Jesus, and following that took the kids to the pool. At the pool we were assigned a couple kids to watch over. These kids would constantly be touching you and asking for piggy backs, even if they barely knew you which was surprising to see for me. The kids camp was a really cool experience for me because I got to see kids in a different community from mine and how they act.

After we were finished at the pool we dropped the kids off at their houses. Seeing how the children lived made me realize how much I will need to grow relationships and be an example for the kids we are helping.

To finish off the day we had a chapel with lots of amazing worship and lessons. The lesson was about Jesus wanting us to know and understand what being in discipleship with him means. We need to open our hearts to being transformed.

In conclusion, I cannot wait to learn more about these kids and about God, and grow a stronger relationship with Him throughout this week.
