Small Group Opportunities

"We have been blessed by our groups’ prayers and concerns for us this year."

"We hold one another accountable and treat bible study as a priority in our lives."

"There is a strong sense that this is a safe little community in which we can share the pain of loss."

"The social evenings are definitely a highlight and help all of us to build deeper connections with one another."

"Everyone expressed gratitude for the opportunity the church provided for them to attend this grief support group."

Do the above quotes by small group members reflect your hopes?  If so, you may want to join a small group.  We have two new Bible Study Groups for Young Adults starting (check the bulletin for details):

  • Young Adults ages 19 – 30ish: Monday nights
  • Young Adults ages roughly 25 – 35 coordinated by Matt and Heather

Watch for more bible study groups for various ages to begin in the next months.

A new kind of group

You will have seen the announcement for a Community Knitting Group in the bulletin. This kind of group is sometimes called an affinity group or interest group and offers opportunity for building relationships, experiencing care and fellowship, and introducing people to the gospel.  If you are interested in starting one of these groups (eg. biking, hiking, reading, etc.) contact Marion or Berta.

The current list of existing small groups has been posted to the bulletin board outside the office.  Let Berta or Marion know if there are errors or omissions.  If you want to join one of the groups you can email smallgroups@willoughbychurch.com.

It is our prayer and hope that many people at Willoughby will find small groups a wonderful place to belong and grow in faith.
