Offering for weeks 1 & 2 of July:

One of our special offerings this month supports our Denominational Shares: ReFrame Ministries (formerly Back to God hour). Their vision is that the lives and worldviews of all people around the globe will be transformed by God's gospel message. Relying on the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Reframe creates contextual media resources, such as the Today & Kid's Corner, that proclaim the gospel, disciple believers, and strengthens the church throughout the world in 10 major languages. This work takes place through their four core strategies: church rooted, major languages, context driven and relationship- focused. To learn about what our denominational ministry is doing, please visit ReFrame's website.

* For the two Special Offerings this month, ReFrame Ministries will run for the first two weeks, with Redeemer University for weeks 3&4.  You are invited to give to either or both offerings as they will both be available on tithley for the whole month of July! *

Monday, Jul 7, 2025 at 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM with John M. Owen, on What’s Wrong with Democracy? John Owen will discuss the travails of democracy, focusing particularly on how the content of its underlying philosophy of liberalism—the theory that upholds individual freedom as the highest political good—has shifted over the centuries; why today’s version of liberalism is a mixed blessing; and how Christians might help their societies rethink liberalism and repair their politics.

Wednesday, Jul 9, 2025 at 7:30 PM – 9:00 PM with Brittany Kim, on Hagar, Leah & the God Who Sees. In the book of Genesis, Hagar and Leah are rejected by their husbands and often overlooked by interpreters. But God sees these women, responding to their needs and elevating them to positions of honour. When Hagar is exiled, God provides for her in the wilderness and gives her promises that parallel his promises to Abraham. And although Leah is unloved, God makes her the mother of Israel’s kings and priests. Through the stories of these women, we can see how God cares for those who are marginalized and become more aware of how he may be working in our own lives.

Groundwork: Jubilee and the Joy of Salvation - Jubilee and joy are featured frequently in Luke’s gospel. Join Groundwork as we study Luke 4:18-19, Luke 5:33-35, Luke 15, and Luke 19:1-9 to trace this theme through Jesus’ parables and encounters, so we understand its importance, how it connects to the Old Testament’s Year of Jubilee, and what it means for how we faithfully respond to encounters with Jesus and salvation today. Listen now at GroundworkOnline.com and subscribe to Groundwork's weekly emails for future episodes.

Thrive Faith Formation Tip - In Joshua 4, God instructs the Israelites to gather twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan River as a reminder of what God has done for them. As we move into the second half of the year, create your own remembrances from the first half of the year. What moments serve as reminders of God’s care, provision, and lovingkindness? Write them on a poster and hang them in your home as a sign of God’s faithfulness. Or gather rocks, paint them, write keywords on them, and display them along a walkway outside or in a common room in your home. Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive
