Our first club night was a great success!  We now have almost 40 girls signed up for GEMS this year.  Fantastic!

Because we have so many new faces, we thought we'd introduce the girls to a verse that has been part of GEMS for many years.  Since 1958 God has been using GEMS to impact the lives of countless women and girls, teaching them what it means to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with with Him (Micah 6:8).  I'm sure all of you who have been part of GEMS or Calvinettes can recite that verse instantly when asked - "What does the LORD require of you?".  We want our GEMS girls to be able to do the same.  We talked with the girls about the meaning of the verse and then created personalized pillowcases with Micah 6:8 along with visual reminders including handprints (act justly), hearts (love mercy) and footprints (walk humbly) to help them remember the verse. Each pillowcase was as unique as its designer.  I think the girls liked painting their hands and feet the best!
