This is the last Sunday to give to either of the Special Offerings for June!

Offering for weeks 3 & 4 of June:

The special offering this month is for the Canadian CRC Indigenous Ministry, which promotes and encourages healing and reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples. It is guided by the Canadian Indigenous Ministry Committee (CIMC), operates three Urban Indigenous Ministry Centers (Winnipeg, Regina, and Edmonton), and supports a Senior Leader for Indigenous Justice (Adrian Jacobs).

The Indigenous Ministry Committee has the specific role of educating and mobilizing CRC congregations and members to live in reconciled relationships with Indigenous people and non-indigenous people.

The three Urban Indigenous Ministries strive to create a space where Indigenous people can feel safe, valued, and respected to use their gifts and to grow.

The Senior Leader for Indigenous Justice and Reconciliation, provides staff support to the Canadian Indigenous Ministry Committee and facilitates communication within the Indigenous Ministry, congregations and other agencies where common justice concerns are shared.

Garden Sharing Table: Are your vegetable or flower gardens, fruit trees or bushes producing more than you can use? Why not share the abundance? Bring your extras to our Sunday morning Garden Sharing Table, located in the church’s front lobby. Let’s share the bounty of our gardens and enjoy the gifts of the season together. Everyone is welcome to take home items from the table to enjoy! The table will be available every Sunday throughout the summer.

Church Update: For those congregation members that missed our Annual General Meeting on May 31st. The agenda and minutes are now available on the website. If there are any further questions for council, they can be sent to council@willoughbychurch.com. Thanks!

Refugee Sponsorship Update: We have received wonderful news that the Al Haj Murie family is expected to arrive on July 21st.  We are seeking long term housing for this family of 6 but realize that August 1st would likely be the earliest move in date.  If anyone has available housing for this family for about 10 days (July 21-31) or longer, please let Peter Roukema or Evelyn Bouwman know.  Even better, if there was space for 8 people, Adel and Muna (whom we sponsored 4 years ago and who are related to this family) could also be included as they are also looking for a new place to live.  Thank you!

This week spend time identifying people God placed in your life (teachers, elders, mentors, family members) who have been or who continue to be instrumental in your faith formation. Thank God for placing that person in your life, and reach out to them, letting them know the impact they’ve had. Brought to you by Thrive: crcna.org/Thrive

Groundwork: God Gives Israel a King - We want a lot of things in life. Some of those are good for us; some aren’t. Some align with God's will for us, and some don't. Join Groundwork as we study 1 Samuel 8:1-10:24 to see what happens when God grants Israel’s request for a king and discover how God is faithful, working behind the scenes even when his people make choices that don’t align with his will. Listen now at GroundworkOnline.com and subscribe to Groundwork's weekly emails for future episodes.
