Guatemala Mission Trip - The special offering for January will be for the Guatemala Mission trip working with Hope Haven and Bethel Ministry. This is the 11th year that Willoughby Church has sent workers to Guatemala to help support those in need.  There are 14 people from our church and the community that will be building 3 houses and distributing 50 wheelchairs.  Please consider giving generously to this project.  

Youth Group:  Here is the January Youth Group Schedule, to kick off the New Year! 

  • Jan 8 - Study at church with Will and Joanna - 7pm
  • Jan 15 - Meet at The Raving Gamer - 6:30-8:30pm (Bring $ for a snack!)
  • Jan 22 - Immanuel 20:20 - 6:30pm
  • Jan 29 - Youth Dinner -  5 to 7 

Coffee Break:  We will resume on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, with a study by Nancy Guthrie, “The Word of the Lord-Seeing Jesus in the Prophets” -  Habakkuk. Jobsearch Help - One of our newcomers is looking for employment.  He has experience in home renovation and automobile repair/maintenance. He is also quite ready for home handyman tasks, house cleaning, and security work. GLORIA DEI CHORALE, a Christian Community Mixed Voice Choir, under the direction of Rob Workman, will start their second semester on January 16, 2023.  New and former members are invited to join the choir as we participate with the choir at Trinity Western University for the inaugural performance of the oratorio, “Gardens” by David Squires, a professor from TWU.  If you love to sing, you've come to the right place!  We are especially interested in male voices, but welcome all who are eager to sing.  Rehearsals are at 7:30 pm on Monday nights at New Westminster Christian Reformed Church:  8255 - 13th Ave, Burnaby.  Contact Tina 604-588-6377 or Elaine at 604-271-0283 for more information.

Out of Egypt into a Good Land - Join Under the Fig Tree Ministries teacher Rev. George DeJong on a 2-week trip from November 9 to 22, 2023, to Egypt and Israel to experience the lands of the Bible. Pastor George is a gifted teacher with a pastor’s heart – a real shepherd! – who led the Canadian pastors on similar trips. This tour is designed as a “Bus/Walker Tour” for those whose mobility and stamina is a concern. This is a great trip for seniors and their children. Unfortunately, wheelchairs and scooters cannot be accommodated for this trip. There is room for 45 people.
