Refugee Sponsorship Update: It is quite possible that two families will be able to come to Canada in the next few months. To prepare for their arrival we need to have two small teams in place to welcome them and assist with transitioning to life in Canada. These teams of 4 or 5 people would find and furnish an apartment, as well as stock it with food prior to the families arrival in Canada.  Once the families have arrived these teams would continue to provide support to them assisting with such things as applying for SIN and child tax credits, registering children for school, securing a family doctor and dentist; assisting to open a bank account, and general orientation to the community. If you would like to be part of this exciting and satisfying experience, contact Eleanor at  778-298-7770, or elly1906@gmail.com
