On February 21, 2015 (God willing) six members of our congregation, together with a group from Smithers, BC, will leave for one week to Guatemala. Under the umbrella of Hope Haven Canada (www.hopehaveninternational.org) they plan to build 4-5 houses, install solar lighting, and distribute food hampers. The people they serve in Guatemala live in extreme poverty – imagine receiving a home complete with solar lighting, when you previously had neither.
While they have already received some very generous donations for the houses, solar lighting, etc. they are not there yet! As each person of the team is responsible for the cost of the trip all donated funds go directly toward the cost of the houses, solar lighting and food hampers. Next Sunday, January 25, there will be a special offering held for their work in Guatemala. This is one way you can partner with them and give to this worthy cause.
