I have suffered from severe pain and a lack of mobility for the last 3 years of my life. Due to a car accident I was in, a fall I suffered while in the shower and many other accidents, I was relegated to getting around with a cane, neck brace and a walker. The pain I experienced was severe and the lack of mobility was not only limiting but frustrating. Like anyone living in these circumstances, I longed for healing in my life. Little did I know I was going to experience the touch of God that was going to lift these conditions in my life. This encounter with the healing hand of God began for me with an invitation. My friend Nelson Betts extended a fully paid opportunity to attend a 3 day Men’s Retreat put on by the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship. At first, the invitation did not appeal to me. I had other commitments during that time but my friend’s persistence won the day and I found myself in a van driving to Green Bay in West Kelowna for the retreat. There at the camp I heard a powerful message from Jeff Edwards on how God brings different types of healing into the lives of people. As I listened to these words, I sensed God saying that this was the day for my healing. Sensing this in my spirit, I asked if they would pray for my physical healing. In the evening, the leaders of the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship from across BC gathered around me. The speaker anointed my head with oil and, as they laid hands on me, they began to pray. As their prayer ascended to heaven, the power of the Holy Spirit descended and the power of God moved in my body and strength began to flow through my limbs. I began to stand and deep within my heart I cried “Lord Jesus, let me walk again”. It started with small faltering steps but with each step more strength came to my legs. Before I knew it, my small steps had become full strides taking me from one end of the auditorium to the other. My cane, neck brace and walker were cast away. Spinning around I leapt for joy. As I stood with outstretched hands, Jesus had miraculously healed me. In the Bible we read “This is the day that the Lord has made. I will rejoice and be glad in it”. It indeed was the day for me. The day God’s grace and power touched and healed me. I pray you may know his touch too.
