April 24, 6:00 pm - April 26, 1:30 pm

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest"

Matthew 11:28

Speaker Bio:

Jenna Fabiano was raised on a chicken farm in Abbotsford and ended up going to Dordt College to study English and Theatre.  From there she felt the grip of God take a hold of her, and she soon found herself doing a Masters of Divinity at Regent College in Vancouver.  In 2017 she was ordained in the Christian Reformed Church and now serves as the Associate Pastor at Willoughby CRC in Langley.  She lives in Coquitlam and loves Jesus, hiking, reading, and watching Premier League soccer with her husband, Danny.

Theme Summary:

The majority of North Americans live at a pace of life unknown to previous generations.  The hustle and bustle of modern schedules—board meetings, long work hours, driving our kids to varying activities, meal prep, volunteering, etc.—keeps us constantly in a hamster wheel of existence, leaving us very little room to hear from God.

So when we come to Scripture and we hear Jesus’ words, “Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest,” we don’t even know where to start.  What does that even mean?  That won’t make my calendar disappear or my life any easier.  How am I supposed to receive or respond to Jesus’ invitation when life won’t slow down?

That’s just it.  We can’t possibly receive or respond to Jesus’ words unless we first learn how to rest.  And this weekend we’ll be exploring what it looks like to honestly and faithfully rest into the presence of Christ, and only then receive His goodness and respond to His love.
