Set aside some time each week to focus on the cross by showing your children the photos in our Online Photo Directory. You don't have to show them all at one time. Pick a few each week. Have the children point out the cross or crosses they see in each picture, noting the variety of ways the cross that can be seen all around us, every day. Then invite them to participate in finding or making their own crosses. Their imagination is the limit!
Here are two ways to participate:
1. TAKE PHOTOS: When your child sees a cross anywhere at home, at play, in nature, etc, use your phone, take a picture, give it a title, include your child's name and send it to arts@willoughby.church.com . We'll post it in the online directory.
2. CREATE A PICTURE: Whatever medium your child wishes to use is acceptable - crayons, paint, markers, paper collage, lego, blocks, etc. It can be a 3-D cross or a picture of a cross. The cross can be obvious or hidden. The sky is the limit. Here again, use your phone, take a picture, give it a title, include your child's name and sent it to arts@willoughbychurch.com.
One more thing: if your child creates a picture, please save the picture for display in the church lobby. If you wish to drop it off at the church, the office will continue to be open Tues - Fri from 9:00 - 3:00. Or save the pictures and bring them church when we resume our weekly physical worship gatherings.
