Save to your Calendar

Join us for an Ash Wednesday Service to mark the beginning of Lent in the Christian calendar.  Ash Wednesday is a service that invites us to pause, be honest with ourselves, and reset our focus on Christ by remembering a few key things:

  • Our human mortality
In the service, ashes are placed on the forehead with the words spoken over you: “Remember that you are dust, and to dust you shall return.”  It’s a blunt reminder that life is finite—and that we’re not in control of everything.

  • Repentance and self-examination
The service invites each of us to reflect on where we’ve fallen short, to confess sin, and to turn back toward Christ.  This is not meant to induce guilt but to lead us towards honesty and humility.

  • Beginning a season of spiritual discipline
Lent is traditionally a time for fasting, prayer, generosity, and simplifying life.  Ash Wednesday invites us to set a tone for the season of Lent: slow down, pay attention, and be intentional.

  • Communal grounding
To show up together—often in a quieter, more solemn service—signals that this isn’t just an individual reset but something the community is walking through together.

In many ways, Ash Wednesday is a service that can function like a spiritual checkpoint: What actually matters? What needs to change? What do I need to let go of before moving forward?

We hope to see you there!
