As we come to see that we are ‘sent’ people, sent into our neighbourhoods and work places to call attention to the restorative reign of Christ, we see our sin in a new light. Our sin obscures Christ in us. It dishonours Christ to the world. Perhaps you can take a few minutes today to pause and reflect prayerfully on the seriousness of our sin:
-
Let’s consider our sin in the light of the goodness of creation
-
Consider our sin in the light of the order of creation
-
Consider our sin in the light of our relationship with God
-
Consider our sin in the light of the Holy Spirit who dwells in us
-
Consider our sin in the light of God’s holiness
-
Consider our sin in the light of relationships with family, spouses
-
Consider our sin in the light of relationships at work, and outside the household.
-
Consider our sin in the light of the mission of the church
-
Consider our sin in the light of the angels
-
Consider our sin in the light of the cross
I love the King James version of Hebrews 7:25 – “he is able to save to the uttermost”:
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
