Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church: Sunday, November 14, 2021, is one of the two Sundays on which many people mark the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. Christians used the fish symbol as a secret code. When meeting a stranger, one Christian would draw half of the image and wait to see if the stranger would know to draw the other. If they did, they were safe to talk freely about Jesus. In many parts of our world the threats to Christians are just as real today as they were for the early church. Thankfully Christians today have ways of talking to other believers far beyond what the early church could have imagined. As the Christian Reformed Church’s media ministry, ReFrame Ministries offers a safe way to have these conversations—developing trusted websites and social media pages for believers in China, Egypt, and other places where persecution takes place.  Find resources to help mark this offering at www.crcna.org/ChurchYear

At-home Faith Practice Reflection Tip: Reflection and Discussion Starter—the Practice of Generosity: Read 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 and ponder or discuss the following questions. Think back over the past year. Where have you “sown sparingly”? Where have you “sown generously”? How do you “decide in your heart” what and when to give? How intentional are those decisions? How might you find more joy in giving generously?

Study Leave: Pastor Jenna Fabiano, will be away from November 8 - 22.  Let's wish her the best for her time away.
