GEMS Girls' Club is a place to belong - a club just for girls - where girls are welcomed into a community of mentors and peers who genuinely care about them. At GEMS, girls in third through seventh grade are welcomed into a vibrant community of mentors and peers who genuinely care about them. GEMS is the perfect place for the girls to learn and discover who God created them to be. It's a fun and safe environment for them to learn about God, His Word, and His world.
GEMS is an acronym for Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior. Our vision is to see girls around the world actively and enthusiastically expressing love for God and others. GEMS' mission is to bring girls everywhere into a living, dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ.
Girls who participate in the club are organized into grade-based small groups with one leader (counselor) for every six to eight girls. GEMS meet every other Wednesday from Oct-May from 7:00 - 8:45 pm.
Each year, a scripture passage is selected and a theme is developed around that scripture to make the passage come alive for the girls. Bible studies, service projects, crafts, games, and other fun activities are created to teach the truth of God's Word that is found in the theme. This year's verse is:
"See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called the children of God! And that is what we are!" 1 John 3:1
Our greatest desire is to be loved (Proverbs 19:22). And if we miss the glorious truth that we are already loved by God, we’ll hold our emptiness up to something or someone else to fill us. Girls today often look for love, worth, and acceptance in places culture tells them to: Appearances, emotions, experiences, performance, personality, possessions, popularity, or social media. These things can leave girls feeling emptier than ever, and they miss the Truth that they are already unconditionally LOVED. by God.
Girls need to hear this Truth more than ever! When a girl knows the Truth of who she is according to God’s Word, everything changes. Through LOVED. Period. girls will learn the capital ‘T’ Truth of who she is—accepted, beautiful, chosen, and so very LOVED.
