Our special offering for July is for the work of M2/W2. Founded in BC in 1966, M2/W2, otherwise known as Restorative Christian Ministries, is a Christian-based agency that seeks to reflect God's restorative and inclusive love as it reaches out to British Columbia’s offender community located primarily in the Fraser Valley.

M2/W2 operates four programs utilizing community volunteers who are dedicated to establishing supportive community relationships with the incarcerated in our provincial and federal institutions. Its core program has always been one-to-one (M2W2) visitation of men and women in prison to offer friendship and support while they are incarcerated, and when they return to the community.

In addition, M2/W2 operates Circles of Support and Accountability (CoSA).  This program works with sex offenders released from federal prisons to buffer their reintegration into the community while holding them accountable to commit to “no more victims”.

A third program, NOLA (No One Leaves Alone) helps prisoners reintegrate into society as prosocial citizens. Community members become part of a circle of supporting friends to journey with those who are newly released providing them with support, friendship, and accountability. The program aims to ensure safe, crime-free reintegration to society.

And finally, the Hidden Treasures Thrift Store in Abbotsford helps to provide financial stability for the organization as well as volunteer opportunities for people in the community. All these programs rely on volunteers.  Approximately 350 M2/W2/CoSA/Nola/Hidden Treasures volunteers work with over 600 men and women annually. M2/W2 offers training sessions for all its volunteers.  Contact info@m2w2.com for information on how to volunteer.

Your gifts for M2/W2 are welcome throughout the month.  Write M2/W2 on the memo line of your cheque or envelope to designate your gifts.
