Cycling to reduce poverty one person at a time . . . This summer, I (Christiana R.) have the opportunity to join 135 cyclists on Sea to Sea 2017. Sea to Sea is a cross-country bike ride that covers 6,759 km across parts of Canada and the US from June 26- August 29. I will be biking for 2 weeks from Vancouver to Calgary after which the tour continues on to Halifax. Our team—myself, Fred R. (my dad), Kaitlin W. (a high school friend) and Brent W. (Kaitlin’s dad)—has a fundraising goal of $40,000. The funds we raise will support the work of World Renew and Partners Worldwide in efforts to further their missions to provide basic human needs, empower disadvantaged people through education and inspire them to action.

My passion to participate in Sea to Sea began in Grade 3 when a visitor brought in her bike and shared about the Sea to Sea ride.  Since then, my awareness increased about material poverty as I served on various mission trips within North America. Individuals in these communities changed my life and shaped my heart for missions; they love the Lord so deeply despite their circumstances, yet my heart breaks when I hear of their hardships. World Renew and Partners Worldwide strive to advocate for these individuals and develop self-sufficient communities world-wide.

Would you consider joining me and the partners of Sea to Sea in bringing change to these broken communities? For more information, or to donate to ‘The Wheel Deal’ team, please visit seatosea.org
