Jesus said, “Offer hospitality to one another.”   (1 Peter 4:9)

In this season of hospitality, we challenge you to show hospitality to guests and visitors to Willoughby Church in three simple ways:

  1. Leave the front parking lot clear.  We all love a great parking spot, but it is not especially welcoming for a guest to have look for a spot at the back of the lot.  An open space near the main entrance says, “welcome” before someone even comes in the door.  Seniors and those with mobility issues will also be grateful, so leave a few minutes earlier and park at the back;
  2. Move to the center of the pew.  As the sanctuary fills, help the ushers do their job by moving to the center of the rows so people entering can more easily find a seat.  Guests often arrive as the service is starting and not having to climb over people to get a seat says “welcome”;
  3. Meet someone new.  Make a commitment to first introduce yourself to someone you don’t know or haven’t met immediately following the service - before you visit with your friends.  Imagine what would happen if everyone did this.
