Willoughby Christian Reformed Church

Through word and deed the deacons lead our congregation by serving others in our church and community and by equipping our congregation to serve in various ministries of mercy.  To that end, the deacons model, demonstrate and encourage Willoughby Church in the following four areas of Christian ministry: 

• Compassion:  Offering words of hope and encouragement to those who are hurting
• Community Involvement:  Engaging in ministry with the community around us
• Justice:  Advocating for and with the marginalized and vulnerable people in our community and the world around us
• Stewardship: Practicing authentic stewardship with our time, talents and money 

On your behalf, the deacons distribute food hampers, provide food vouchers and offer other short-term assistance for people in the Langley community.  In addition, they coordinate participation in the annual Love Langley initiative, support and encourage member involvement in other local ministries and service opportunities such as the Gateway of Hope and M2W2. Through the work of the deacons, Willoughby Church supports global development work and relief efforts, in particular those sponsored by the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee.
