This walk, between indigenous and non-indigenous peoples, symbolizes that of so many aboriginal children and will follow the TransCanada Trail from the colonial bastion in Fort Langley to the residential school site of      St. Mary's in Mission. 

Rest stops with refreshments will be provided. Return transportation from your endpoint to your startpoint will also be available. 

The Walking Route:

  • Wed. June 1st, 6:30 p.m. Fort Langley National Historic Site to TransCanada trailhead (26805 River Rd) – 7km.
  • Thurs. June 2nd, 9:30 a.m. TransCanada trailhead to Douglas Taylor Park, Abbotsford. – 14km.
  • Fri. June 3rd, 9:30 a.m. Douglas Taylor Park, Abbotsford, to St. Mary’s residential school site – 12km.
  • Saturday, June 4th, 9:30 a.m. Tour of St. Mary’s site and a presentation on the 'Doctrine of Discovery' followed by a catered hospitality lunch.  See detailed information below. 

As an added treat, All Saints Anglican Church is holding their Strawberry Tea on Saturday, June 4 from 2 – 4 p.m. Why not make a day of it?
